Пирамида (2024)

Pyramiden is an abandoned settlement on the Arctic archipelago of Svalbard, Norway. Once a thriving Soviet mining town, it was established by Sweden in 1910 and later sold to the Soviet Union in 1927. At its peak, Pyramiden housed over 1,000 residents and featured amenities such as a cultural center, a school, and even a greenhouse to provide fresh produce in the harsh Arctic climate. The town was abruptly abandoned in 1998, leaving behind a frozen time capsule of Soviet life. Today, it stands as a ghostly reminder of human resilience and ambition at the edge of the world.
